The teacher of the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Public School for Early Childhood and Primary Education has been suspended from employment and salary until the trial is held.

The teacher was arrested after the complaint of about five parents of the center for an alleged crime against moral integrity and injuries to children of three and four years. First, a mother filed a complaint and then four other fathers joined. The investigation, according to sources quoted by the Cadena SER Extremadura, also extends to a former director of the center and an Education inspector of the Junta de Extremadura.

The preliminary hearing has been carried out this Wednesday in the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Don Benito, within the instruction that is being followed for the alleged continued crimes of injuries and against moral integrity.

The Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura informs that the head of the court has not adopted any removal measure, having agreed, already through administrative channels, the suspension of employment and salary of the investigated. The instruction is still open and it is not ruled out that there are more investigated.

From the Ministry of Education and Employment they confirm that this teacher is suspended from employment and salary while the case is being investigated and that she has not been teaching for several weeks. From the regional administration they also point out that she has a disciplinary file open. Finally, they stress that the council is waiting to hear the results of the police investigation.

Meanwhile, Iván Tapia, the teacher’s defense attorney, defends the innocence of the accused: “Everything comes as a result of a misunderstanding or intentional encouragement,” he points out, after pointing out that the only thing there is is “an interested story on the part,” and a complaint from people who are not direct witnesses to the facts. The defense confirms, yes, that the teacher has an open disciplinary file and she is provisionally removed from her position. Regarding the position of her client, Tapia assures that she rejects any type of accusation of aggression or harassment.
